Information
To be a successful DTC enterprise, the path requires constantly asking questions - asking questions about why you do things the way you do, and asking how others do the same things that make them better / bigger / more profitable than you. A few FAQ's on a website, while interesting, aren't going to take your business to the next level.
Frequently asked questions
It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence. We take on only a limited number of clients at any one time, to insure we do not leave any client wanting.
How do I know if I am using the right carrier mix?
If your customers are happy, and you are making a profit, then you are probably using the right carrier mix. However, if you are not constantly asking yourself if you should be doing anything different, than you will fall further and further behind others that are proactively working to be better!
How do I know if I am paying the lowest cost possible for my packing materials - boxes, liners, dunnage, etc.?
Competitive bidding for the supplies that your business uses is the only way to validate the market - and also having a broad network to compare notes helps a great deal!
Can I increase my fulfillment output without adding additional fulfillment space?
You might be surprised to learn that the right carrier selection, and / or the introduction of a Zone Skip or Pool Distribution model can help support a 6 or 7 day pick/pack/ship operation - giving you 1 or 2 extra fulfillment days without adding square footage!
Do you work only with companies that spend less than $9,000,000?
No - we will work with any size organization, but we like smaller businesses because decisions can be made faster when changes are necessary.
Can my business afford your services?
We offer a number of different payment structures, based on the type of business, the stage of the business, and the expected value we can provide in helping to improve your business. The basic structures are an hourly fee, a project fee, or a fixed fee plus gain share. Savings uncovered becomes an ongoing annuity.
What makes MasterDTCshipping.com different?
We can be the flyswatter or the hammer to squash the bug that is buzzing around your business. We tailor our approach to your specific needs, based on the stage of your business.
Should I be attending industry conferences?
The short answer is "it depends". It depends on the conference, and it depends on the type of information you are looking for. Most conferences are built to satisfy needs at the highest level, leaving many attendees to leave and scratch their heads wondering how to get the real information that they were hoping to get.
How should I measure my cost of fulfillment / transportation?
At a business level, Fulfillment cost and Transportation cost should be measured separately. The most-used measurements are Fulfillment (or Transportation) cost per order, OR, Fulfillment (or Transportation) cost as a % of sales. Measurement at the box level is less useful in telling the overall impact on the business, but may also be used to meet a specific need.
